Salt Room Benefits – Anxiety

Salt Rocks for Anxiety

The World Health Organization (WHO) says that almost 300 million people suffer from anxiety and every 1 in 5 people in the United States suffers from this.

Killing anxiety with halotherapy

While Halotherapy (Salt Therapy) helps with Bronchitis, Lung Disease, Respiratory Disease, Asthma, Sleep Disorders, Cystic Fibrosis, Rhinosinusitis, and improves athletics the misted salt that gets pumped into the room is primarily for helping people with respiratory issues.

The dry salt that is pumped into the room also has another benefit because it has negatively charged ions that have a positive effect on your body and brain chemistry.

Salt also has anti-histamine properties that help in relieving fatigue, stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, and general anxiety disorder (GAD) through the salt’s soothing properties.

While you are sitting there breathing in salt air it is like you are sitting next to the beach of the ocean wiggling your toes on the thick layer of salt in the room. While you are sitting there you do not have to worry about things that have to get done and know that this time is YOUR time to get away from it all. The very large amount of sand on the floor resembles the beach that you can push your toes through while listening to soothing music with ambient lighting to calm your mood.

Several of our customers after leaving the salt room reported to us how much the session relaxed them and said that alone would be worth coming to the session but they get the health benefit of clearing their airways also!

How else does salt therapy help with anxiety? By clearing your nasal passages and opening up your lungs from the dry salt it promotes a more restful sleep which always helps with anxiety. Along with sleeplessness anxiety grows when it encounters muscle tension and fatigue which are taken care of during a halotherapy session.

In conclusion, while Halotherapy is primarily used to help with bronchial conditions it has a great side effect of helping your anxiety.

If only all health treatments had side effects that are this good!
