Salt Therapy at Home

Get Salted Bath Salts
Bath Salts

Although nowhere as effective as coming to our halotherapy session you can do salt therapy at home if you are crunched for time or money.

We sell salt rocks, soap bars, body bars, bath bombs, bath salts, lamps, and other salt-related items at our salt room that you can purchase for your home in between sessions.

Here are some of the things that you can do at home in the meantime:

  • Nasal Spray
  • Neti Pot
  • Salt Lamp
  • Epson Salt Bath
  • Gargling with Salt Water

Nasal Spray

Similar to the Neti Pot, the nasal spray can be used to alleviate sinus-related symptoms. Nasal sprays are typically used for cold remedies and allergy relief. A major difference between a nasal spray and the Neti Pot is the use of chemicals such as oxymetazoline, phenylephrine, xylometazoline, and naphazoline. A squirt of this nasal spray helps to quickly decongest the nose by constricting the swollen blood vessels in the nasal lining.

Long-term use of nasal sprays is not recommended and should be only used periodically as it CAN damage your nasal membrane. Also, long-term use can actually worsen your nasal congestion. So please use it sparingly.

Neti Pot

You may have heard of this age-old practice that is still done today. Studies have shown that using a Neti Pot helps people with sinus problems. Doing this 3 times a week has shown that it helped alleviate sinus-related symptoms.

Salt Lamp

The Himalayan Salt Lamps we sell create negatively charged ions from the water molecules in the air from the warmth of the surface of the lamp. This will help you sleep better at night but is not as effective as a direct dry salt session in our salt spa.

Epson Salt Bath

Here is a way for wet salt therapy that is the opposite of the dry salt therapy that we provide. Take 100 grams of Himalayan Salt and 500 grams of Epsom Salt, then add your favorite essential oil for aromatherapy. Turn on some relaxing music then soak in your tub and relax!

Bathing in salt water reduces inflammation of the joints and muscles, is good for your skin, and relieves pain and soreness.

Gargling with Salt Water

Gargling with salt water can help remove the plaque and bacteria from your teeth and gums but is not recommended to do daily.

Salt has healing properties that can reduce the inflammation of swollen gums caused by gum disease but is only used as a relief and is not a cure for gum disease.

Normal salt is acidic and if you gargle salt every day over time it will soften the teeth’ enamel and gums. Plus if you happen to have high blood pressure it would not be a good idea to gargle every day either.

Salt Room at Home

If you can afford it the average cost of having a salt room built in your home is about $5000 for a 200-square-foot room. This will include all of the materials needed, Himalayan Salt Bricks, HVAC equipment, exhaust equipment, and the Halogenerator.
