What is a salt room?

A salt room is a room with a spa-like setting where you sit comfortably with ambient lighting, and soothing music while salt that has been crushed to the size of dust is pumped into the room.

These very fine dry salt particles get breathed into your respiratory system to improve your breathing, clear your passageways, allergies, and skin conditions, and deal with lung problems such as asthma, bronchitis, and coughing. You can read this page for more benefits of Halotherapy (Salt Room Therapy).

The Spa-Like setting of the room also helps treat migraine headaches and anxiety.

How old is salt therapy?

Salt Therapy has been around since the 12th century in Poland when people discovered the health benefits of salt therapy where people were encouraged to bathe in mineral waters.

Halotherapy with the use of dry salt first started in 1843 with Feliks Boczkowski, a Polish physician, noticing that salt miners did not have the same lung or respiratory problems that other miners had.
